12th Avenue Hot Club at Andina Restaurant

We got a surprise in our email this morning from a new friend, Alex Vasquez. He captured this candid video of the trio at Andina Restaurant during his recent trip to Portland from Texas. You can see Tracy on the left, Dax on the right (nice bass solo Dax!) and our friend Pete Matern on guitar in the middle.

Thanks for sending this in, Alex!

Not just any Democratic Party!

The political pundits have spoken! 12th Avenue in '08!

On Tuesday Feb.5th, the hotclub rocked the Democratic Party of Oregon's Super Tuesday celebration at the Tiffany Center. As one of the most dramatic presidential elections in recent memory unfolded, the 12th Avenue Hotclub did its best to provide a soundtrack worthy of this historic moment. On the gig were our good friend Ben on Violin, Joel on drums, Dax. Tracy and Doug.

Many thanks to the Democratic Party of Oregon for the very memorable event. It was our honor to be a part of it!

Hot Club at the Carlyle

Joe, Dax, Tracy and Isaac played our first time at the renowned Carlyle Restaurant in NW Portland this weekend, for a private holiday party. Doug was at another holiday gig, or he would have been there with us. Excellent food, great atmosphere, and let's just say the lighting speaks for itself.

At first, we saw the people arriving in seasonally inappropriate Hawaiian print shirts, khakis and muu-muus, and we just thought it was a country club. Then we realized the night's theme was "A Night at South Beach." From there, it all began to make sense. But the string bikinis and speedos were noticeably absent.

Great time, lots of dancing, and our friend Muriel joined us for the second half of the night to croon the night away and kick the holidays off right.

No Olea Thursday, November 29

Last minute notice for any folks heading out to see us tonight at Olea. We're taking the week off, as there's a private party reserving out the entire restaurant and the place will be closed to the public. Come out next week for First Thursday, December 6 and we'll see you there!

Recorded CD on the way!

Well, here's some news for those of you who have been waiting all these years. We finally recorded a CD at the live performance we did for David's Harp benefit this fall. We got some excellent tracks, and they're currently being mixed for final production. We plan to press 500 at least to start, and they should be ready around Christmas.
